ESWT (Shock Wave Therapy)

ESWT is a “non-invasive” form of treatment based on the focusing of the generated strong sound waves on a desired area of the body through a probe. It is used in painful conditions of the musculoskeletal system such as lateral / medial epicondylitis (tennis / golfer's elbow), heel spur, shoulder pain, pseudoarthrosis (non-healing fractures), trigger points and untreated muscle spasms.

ESWT acts by increasing the blood supply in the region where it is applied and by creating new tissue cells through activation of the body's regeneration mechanisms.

The method of application is individually evaluated and the dose and duration of treatment is decided. It offers the patient the opportunity of non-surgical, drug-free treatment.
