Urinary incontinence is defined as the complaint of urinary incontinence. It is more common in women than in men. There are three types of incontinence: stress incontinence (leaking urine while coughing, sneezing, etc.), urge incontinence (suddenly trying to urinate) and mixed incontinence (coexistence of both types of incontinence). The complaint of incontinence occurs as a result of weakening of the pelvic floor muscle strength for various reasons.
The treatment lasts 8-12 weeks and is planned according to the patient. It is aimed to increase pelvic floor muscle strength. In general, exercises to increase muscle strength, exercises with an EMG biofeedback device, exercises to strengthen core stabilization and electrical stimulation are applied in the treatment. Additionally, the treatment is supported by the home program given to the patient.
